U-Pick Strawberry Season
This year we went and checked out South Coast Farms at the Tree of Life Nursery in San Juan Capistrano. They have 3 different fields open right now to pick strawberries. They charge $5 a pound and a $5 parking fee. They are open from 10 to 4 on select days. You can wander through the fields picking the most delicious strawberries. They also have a few chairs with umbrellas were you can sit and enjoy the view as well. They are usually open from Thursday to Sunday, but be sure to check their website to confirm they are open before you go. You can find South Coast Farms at 33201 Ortega Hwy SJC 92675
Additionally, you can also experience U-Pick Strawberries at the The Ecology Center. U-pick guests will embark on a journey to discover the advocate within. Field guide in hand, your family will stop at three magical stations, each touching on the theme “Somos Campesinos” (“we are farmers”). We are all farmers – collectively, we farm food, community, art, and culture. Once you’ve completed the tour, you’ll have the opportunity to venture into the fields and experience the bounty of the only Regenerative Organic™ strawberries available in Southern California. Families can feel at ease knowing that their children are safe to enjoy the ruby red abundance straight from the vine – free from chemical fertilizers and pesticides. Price on Thursday and Friday – $7 per person and Saturday and Sunday – $9 per person. Tickets required for all children and adults 2 and up. You pay by the pound for your strawberry abundance! You are welcome to bring your own basket U-Pick is open Thursday through Sunday – 9:30am-1pm
