AVCS cherishes the academic experience alongside vast enrichment opportunities in a small classroom environment. The enrichment classes include science lab, music, art, drama, computer lab, Spanish, multimedia and more. When the school day comes to an end the AVCS students love taking part in athletics like volleyball, soccer, basketball and cross country, as well as after-school programs including archery, art, chess, and the AVCS Math Team!
Sanam M., mother of two daughters (first grade and JK), talks about how she values the extra-curricular programs at AVCS, “My kids love their school so much. They also participate in many after school activities since my husband and I both work full time. AVCS also provides summer camps and camps during Thanksgiving and Winter break which have been such a blessing for us. Natalie C. describes it, “When we first started at AVCS it was amazing to see how accepting the other families were of our family. AVCS also offers resources for parents and families to help support them through the influential years of their child’s development such as parent seminars on major topics, family nights provided by our home parish and unlimited access to RightNow Media, a streaming website devoted to storing and sharing thousands of Christian and Biblical materials. “RightNow Media has made a huge impact on our family,” shares Darci G., “There is a plethora of wonderful selections for each of us and we all enjoy sitting down together to watch it as a family.”

Each year, AVCS creates school-year themes like “Be Kind,” “Choose Joy,” “Love Conquers All” and this year’s theme: “Think Big Dream Big” to inspire both students and the community of families. Teachers and staff use these themes to create special projects and incentives for students. As a school, we find that these themes help unite us as a school body and a family.

The love she has for her school (staff and students) is undeniable and it shows through the teachers and staff. She’s always outside in the mornings and afternoon smiling, waving and greeting the kids and parents,” says Natalie C.
The AVCS administrative team takes a hands-on approach that makes them stand out among other schools. “The principal, Mrs. Peterson, will come and talk to the parents regularly and develop a personal relationship with each family. I had never experienced that at our previous Christian school where we had been at for 7 years,” explains Darci G.
