Huttopia Paradise Springs
Glamping is one of our favorite end of summer traditions within our family. It is a way for us all to reconnect before the craziness of school year begins. And this location is definitely special because you must truly unplug here. To me that is when the magic happens. You and your family can play cards or charades and really just enjoy one another’s company at this lovely glamping location. This year we choose to experience Huttopia Paradise Springs. It was about a 2 hour drive from South Orange County to the San Gabriel Mountains in The Angeles National Forest.. We chose to leave after traffic on a Friday morning and we didn’t hit any traffic on our way up. We did pack most of our food that we planned to enjoy during out stay, but we did stop at the Wrightwood Market on our way into Huttopia Paradise Springs to grab some fruit and steaks for grilling during our stay.
LODGING
In the heart of the San Gabriel Mountains, a mountain spring flows through a wide canyon lush with greenery right into Huttopia Paradise Springs. With 150 acres to explore, they have the perfect setup for you and your family to unplug and enjoy the unspoiled surroundings of nature. There are two main areas for camping called Coulter Pines and Red Rock. But have wooden canvas tent setups almost all identical, just your views will be slightly different. you will either be looking out at the pine trees or the stunning red rocks off in the distance. We stayed in a tent with 2 bedrooms, which perfectly accommodated a family of 5! One side of the tent had a queen bed and the other side of the tent had a full and twin bunkbeds. Our tent also had a private shower/restroom, bear safe giant yeti cooler with cooling packs, dishware, cooking pans, lantern, chairs, full bbq grill & grilling utensils, dining table with chairs & extra blankets. The tent also has electricity and a ceiling fan! Even though it was 85 degrees during the day it was cold in the middle of the night, so be sure to turn off your ceiling fan before going to bed. Know that there are central parking areas for each camping section. They have green wagons for you to load up your belonging and pull to your tent.

Activities
Huttopia Paradise Springs is set in a beautiful location perfect to enjoy nature, hiking and family time. They have tons of activities for the whole family to enjoy. They have a designated area for parking so the kiddos are free to run around and explore the central camping area. There is even a precious stream running through the property that the kids can play in. But I must say that their Spring Water pool built in the 1920’s is definitely the highlight of the property. It is 12 feet deep and crystal pool. It was so refreshing! Huttopia will provide you with towels to use for the pool, so no need to pack extras. There is a book corner, ping pong, arts & crafts and so much more. Be sure to check the daily activities board so you know what all is going on during your stay. You won’t want to miss any of them!
