Looking for a memorable experience with your daughter(s), head to the Hello Kitty Grand Café in the Irvine Spectrum to enjoy afternoon tea. Afternoon tea is served in the coveted Bow Room, hidden behind a simple white door. Once you are escorted back to the Bow Room, all things pink and Hello Kitty hit you like a ton of bricks. If you are a Hello Kitty fan like me, the attention to detail is beyond anything you could ever have hoped for. From the chairs and pillows, to the drinks, tea sugar and food. Everything has some sort of Hello Kitty detail associated with it.
Afternoon tea service starts with a cup of strawberries topped off with decadent sweet cream. Followed by all sorts of different teas to select from. My girls tried the rosehips & hibiscus tea, in addition to some pink lemonade. Next up was the ever-impressive Hello Kitty food tower in the shape of you guessed it, Hello Kitty. The first level included cucumber sandwiches, egg salad cones, salmon croissants, pesto tarts and mini quiches. I must say the pesto tart was a highlight for me. The next level showcased raspberry macarons, lemon tarts and mini chocolate cakes. As if that wasn’t enough, the top level included Hello Kitty mini cakes and scones. The raspberry macarons were out of this world and I am still thinking about them to this day.
The staff was impeccable and always offered to take photos throughout our tea service. I highly suggest you make on-line reservations, so that you are guaranteed the time slot you desire. Reservations are much easier to come by now. Not like when it opened and you had to make reservations at midnight, when the next time slots became available on-line.
And don’t forget, during the evening the Bow Room becomes a mini cocktail lounge. A perfect location to enjoy your next Mom’s Night Out!
