Spooky Seas at the Ocean Institute
October 21st from 5:00 to 9:00pm

Visit the Ocean Institute in Dana Point for spooky and spellbinding fun. The hauntingly exciting adventure begins with a visit to the Mad Scientist’s lab with hands-on experiments. There is also bioluminescence laser tag, a costume contest, trick or treating, live music, Artifact Graveyard, aquarium access, a photo booth, and food and drinks. The event is appropriate for all ages. They will also have Harbor Hayrides going on during the event as well, which requires a ticket as well.

The street of the Amber Lantern will be closed down for this event to bring you a Spooktacular Halloween Festival. Halloween Spooktacular Trunk or Treat

This event hosted by the city’s recreation division includes a haunted house maze, carnival games, crafts, cookie decorating, plus Dana Point Police Services will be on-site for trick or treating with bloodhounds, the bomb squad, mounted unit, K-9 team, SWAT, and more. Stick around for the kids costume contest at 6PM. Includes free hot chocolate, popcorn, and candy, and food trucks will be available to purchase dinner and snacks.

Enjoy a night of aquatic adventure, creativity and spine chilling events that starts with pumpkins and ends with a spooky movie. The night starts with a Pumpkin Plunge. The pool will be filled with pumpkins and it will be the mission will be to fish them all out. Next up the Pumpkin Decorating Station. Haunted Trails is back again for another year of terrifying thrills! You are invited to join us on the trail for four memorable nights that are sure to haunt your dreams. Our undead monsters are eagerly awaiting your arrival. One-Time Only Entrance Tickets are on sale now at Crown Valley Community Center during normal operating hours, Monday through Friday from 8:00am to 5:00pm.  You must present a physical ticket to enter the trail. Wraith House – Halloween Haunt
October 27, 28, 29th and 31st 2023, Low-scare: 6:00 – 7:00 pm, High-scare: 7:15 – 9:30 pm
Into the basement you’ll go, and come face-to-face with the demons even the Wraith herself has cast down to the bowels of this hellish house. Use caution in the basement’s first hallway. The Wraith’s groundskeeper did his best to electrify her manor, but alas, the only current that surges inside its walls runs solely through his remains. The boiler room and its catwalk thereafter await you. Are you adept at perambulation? You’ll need it to make it safely across this Victorian relic. Beware the boiler room mechanic – he jealously guards the rotted power center of this wretched home. Many surprises follow, but we won’t spoil it all… come see for yourself. Additionally, it is $10 per person during low scare and $12 during high scare times.

Zoomars Petting Zoo invites you to a rustic pumpkin patch plus the normal activities already on site. Guests can pick their favorite pumpkin, pan for gems, gold, and fossils, and make friends with animals including llamas, horses, sheep, cows, an emu, bunnies, and more. Take a train ride, or a pony ride, and make great memories with family and friends.

Haunted OC Ghost Walks in San Juan Capistrano
October 27th, 2023  5:30 PM – 8:00 PM
Join us on the Capistrano Ghost Walk, our newest venture into the dark and the macabre through the historic streets of one of California’s oldest cities. Under the canopy of century old pepper trees, hear the stories of the spirits that inhabit the old Los Rios district and make our way through the dimly lit Camino Capistrano to the outskirts of the Mission itself. Tales of headless spirits, bandits and even a pirate attack will be shared and elegant restaurants with a dark past and restless spirits await you. We end the San Juan Capistrano ghost tour outside the Mission near the church, where in 1812 a great earthquake struck, and forty-two parishioners were crushed under the falling stones, and at least one soul there is not at rest. Embark on a dark, history-filled tour that will be remembered forever in one of Southern California’s oldest and most haunted locations.

GOAT-tober Fest at Goods and Goats Market

First annual Goat-tober festival at the Goods and Goats Market. Enter the chili cook off ($25 per entry) for a chance to win cash prizes and free classes. You can be an official chili taster with the price of admission ($20 per person). In addition to chili tasting, you get to visit our goats and chickens, zoom down our zip lines and play on our see-saw. Come dressed in your best Halloween costume and enter our costume contest. Vampirates! at Pirate’s Dinner Adventure

The Pirate’s Dinner Adventure theater hosts the Annual Mascarade Ball at Treasure Bay, but don’t fall victim to the evil pirate Sebastian the Black and his sinister vampire pirate crew. This family-friendly 2-hour Halloween production runs through October 31st and includes a costume contest on weekends. All costumes must be family friendly and may not include masks and weapons. Like other Pirate’s Dinner Adventure shows, Vampirates! includes a four course meal. Special requests for dietary restrictions and allergies are accepted. Call ahead for reservations.

Haunted Mansion Haunt

Ever wish you could experience Walt Disney’s legendary Haunted Mansion with a scarier twist? For the last week in October we transform our home into the Haunted Mansion with all the characters and effects you absolutely love but with a selective, more intense environment for adults and teens. Those of you with little ones, our actors maintain the fun and friendly atmosphere this attraction is known for. During your visit there will be appearances from Madame Leota, The Singing Busts, Little Leota, and MUCH more. Full sized jumping animatronic figures and former live actors from Knott’s Scary Farm are present. Mansion fans just can’t get enough of this event!!! Two ticket types: Doombuggy Express (Priority Access) or Ghost Hearse Stand-By. With a $10 donation per person you can reserve a Doombuggy ticket, providing priority access on any night we are open, one time use only. If you get this ticket, please DO NOT reserve a Ghost Hearse. Ghost Hearse Stand-By is free but requires selecting a date. Please set aside over an hour of time on your visit. If your preferred night is sold out, our Doombuggy tickets will be valid for any night.
