It’s not Just camping – it’s CAMPLAND! When you stay at Campland on the Bay, you get so much more than just a campsite. They have waterfront locations and an amazing array of resort amenities and recreation experiences for the whole family. Best part is that it is only an hour and half from Orange County, depending on the traffic of course. But if you don’t want to spend the night, you can also enjoy Campland as a daycation experience with your family. The options at Campland really are endless.
Where is Campland?
Campland is nestled on the shores of Mission Bay, in San Diego and has been a beloved vacation destination for families since 1969. Mission Bay is the nation’s largest aquatic park. Mission Bay not only offers water enthusiasts’ a dream destination, it also offers 14-miles of bicycle and pedestrian trails around the bay. The public is also welcome to enjoy the beach and bay access, as they have 31 complimentary public parking spaces that are available on a first-come first-served basis.

What type of camping is available at Campland?
Campland offers 562 campsites, all ranging from different locations to sizes. From RV spots on the beach or bay to distinguished tent sites. We choose to enjoy a distinguished RV spot in front of a large grass area. Next time we would love to enjoy an RV spot directly on the beach. Most sites offer full or partial hookups (water/electric/sewer). Some also include a fire ring and picnic table. We loved sitting around our fire ring at night and the kids loved cooking smores. Marina Activities
Campland Marina
From the Campland Marina you can rent kayaks, pedal boats, bikes and pontoon boats. During the weekend, Sea World lets off fireworks in the marina, so renting a pontoon boat and watching them from the water would definitely be a fun nighttime activity with the family. Call them at 858-581-4224 to make any reservations during your stay.
Winter Hours: 8:30 am – 4:30 pm Wednesday – Sunday (Closed Monday – Tuesday) through March 15, 2022.
Summer Hours: 10 am – 6 pm daily. Open until 10 pm Friday and Saturday.

If you are looking to rent boats, stand up paddle boards or jet skis, this is the place to call. They are on-site and can assist you with all your rental needs. Campers are welcome to bring their own boats and water toys. The boat ramp is onsite next to the marina.
On-Site Food Offerings
Visit the Campland Cantina for delicious food and tasty cocktails. Enjoy our daily specials, happy hours, and game nights. You won’t miss any of your favorite sporting events on the Cantina’s six high definition TVs with NFL Ticket. The Cantina often features live music on the patio including DJ’s and solo artists. They have breakfast, lunch and dinner. As you can see they have a killer breakfast burrito if you want to skip cooking in your trailer.
Ice Cream Parlor
Come in to try a variety of flavors including our crowd favorites Bubble Gum, Birthday Cake, and Cotton Candy! Don’t forget to add toppings, candy, and sauces to take your dessert to the next level!
On Site Market
Thank goodness for their on-site market. This place has everything you will need. So if you forgot anything, there is no need to worry they have it all. They have clothes, hats, ice, food, drinks, firewood, batteries and just about anything you can think of. So again, don’t worry if you forgot something at home for your camping trip.
Campland Activities
Campland does not disappoint when it comes to on-site activities. They will keep you and your family busy from sun up to sun down. Besides of course the amazing water sports, they also have live music, an arcade, arts & crafts, dodgeball, a playground, a basketball court and so much more. They also have lovely clean pools for your littles to enjoy, if they need a break from the marina. I have included below a list of the current amenities and their June 2022 calendar.
